Session 1: July 1-10 (8 days)
DIG IT! – Archaeology Camp (Ages 6-11)
Create your own secret society! Each team will dream up an ancient society. They will create its art and cultural artifacts, smash them and then bury the pieces in the ground. The following day, we will dig up each other’s clues and using archaeological principles and methodology, piece together (literally!) what we find to learn about these “lost” societies. Trips: Davidson Center (southern wall excavations in the old city), the Tell & the Hall of Archaeology at the Israel Museum 
Note: Camp will be 8 days beginning on Sunday July 1. There will be no camp on Friday or Saturday. Cost: 1200/1120 NIS

Session 2: July 13-17
Paper Arts (ages 6-12)
Paper is one of the most versatile art materials in the world; Jewish papercutting, Japanese floating lanterns, Suminagashi (marbeling), Italian paper-making, paper Mache piñatas, scrap booking, altered books and more will be some of the art forms we will discover. Trips: Yad Lakashish – Paper Workshop and Bookbindery, “Hutzot Hayotzer” Artists’ Colony or the Israel Museum “Hide and Seek: Works on Paper” exhibit
 
Session 3: July 20-24
Monster Camp (ages: 4-9)
Monster kids from all over Jerusalem have been awaiting the return of this all-time favorite week of camp. Using several different mediums, we will create a World of Monsters including pillows, monster homes, puppets, comics, masks and more. We will look at illustrations of some of our favorite monsters including those from Monsters, Inc. Where the Wild Things Are, and more. Trips: Bloomfield Science Museum’s “Monster in Jerusalem” & Optical Illusions exhibit, cartoonist’s studio

 Session 3: July 20-24 
 Painting and Drawing with the Masters (ages: 8-12)
The Fine Arts Wing of the Israel Museum will be our primary source of inspiration as we learn about famous artists and their techniques. Nearby trips to the park will also provide us with painting and drawing inspiration. We will use watercolours, oil pastels, printing and more.

Session 4: July 27-31
Mosaics with Found Objects (ages: 6-12)
Start cleaning our your “junk” drawers now! Found objects, junk drawers and old furniture will be given new life as we re-purpose old tables, chairs and more. Have broken china, pottery, or old scrabble pieces…bring them in! We’ll put them to use. We will also learn traditional methods of creating mosaics on 2D and 3D surfaces and create a community mosaic wall. Trips: North African Jewish Heritage Center, Mosaic artisan’s studio, Mosaic maps and floors in the old city.

Textile/Wearable Arts Camp (ages 6-12)
We will explore various uses of textile in art and learn techniques of working with textiles (fabric) including Silk painting, batik, embroidery, fabric collage, tye-dye, and beading.
Trips: Yad Lakashish – embroidery & silk painting workshops, “Dress Codes” exhibit at the Israel museum
Note: There will be no camp on Tuesday August 5th in observance of Tisha Ba’av
Cost: 600/550 NIS

Session 6: August 10-14

Mosaics & Textile Camp (ages 6-12)
See descriptions above…During this hybrid week, campers will have the option to “Specialize” in one area or choose from projects of either Mosaics or Textiles & Wearable Arts Camps.

Session 9: August 24-26
Best of the Open Studio (ages 4-10)
Savor the last few days of summer vacation with your favorite projects of the summer. Personal choice will be the hallmark of this last week of camp as children will have the opportunity to delve deeper into a favorite art form or explore a new medium. Cost: 450/420 NIS
