Open Studio Juniors
Sundays 16:30-17:30
Wednesdays 15:40-16:30
Children (ages 4-6) explore the world of art through hands-on learning about color, texture, shape, line and composition in an English-speaking environment (suitable for all levels). We work in various art media and combine materials in new ways which develop fine motor skills. Children build confidence, make their own decisions about their artwork. We specialize in turning our “Oops!” into “a Beautiful oops!” Aside from safety, we only have one rule: Children can’t ask; “Is this good?” or “Am I done?”
ABC’s Through Baking & Art
Tuesdays 16:45-17:45
Children create & eat their way through the English alphabet. We will introduce each letter & build our own personal ABC books which will become filled with our photographs, artwork and recipes. Children will learn how to form letters, identify sounds and sort by word families and blends. Ages, 4-8.

The heart and soul of The Open Studio and foundation of our philosophy. Various materials & techniques are introduced in an interactive open-environment, experimentation and creativity are encouraged and inspiration is plentiful. Children are encouraged to add to their creative repertoire, challenge themselves, make decisions about their work and look at the world as an artist and maker. We only have two rules: Safety and children cannot ask, “Is this good?” or “Am I done?” Some examples of what we do:
Paper Arts: papercutting, quilling, collage, paper making, calligraphy
Mosaics: with glass, ceramic tiles, found objects and more
Jewelry Making: Fimo, Shrinky Dinks, beading,
Fabric Arts: Felting, sewing (hand and machine), tye-dye, embroidery, cross-stitch & weaving
Painting & Drawing: Charcoal, Oil, Pastels, Acrylic and Watercolor Paints, encaustic (wax) painting
Glass Arts: Glass Painting & Mosaics on Glass
Electronics & Technology: building circuits, working with magnetic paint, design challenges, etc. Ages 7-14.
Painting & Drawing with the Masters
Mondays 16:40-17:40
Tuesdays 18:00-19:00
Learn about famous artists and work in their styles. Children will begin to draw the world around them with confidence. We will learn about still life, portraits, landscapes and more as we journey through the renaissance, impressionists, realist and cubist periods. We will explore the concepts of: light & shadow, line, perspective, proportion, depth, texture and more through the use of charcoal, acrylic paints, watercolors, chalks, markers and oil pastels. Ages 8-14
Science of Art

Explore the science behind art…In this process-oriented, inquiry-based workshop children will be challenged to explore various concepts such as mixtures, absorption, magnetism, gravity, temperature and make our own art materials such as: sidewalk chalk, watercolor paints, slime, glitter glue and more. We will combine Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Mathematics in Israel’s first (STEAM) inspired program. Ages 5-9
Mosaic Madness!

Transform broken fragments into a beautiful masterpiece! Introducing an accessible, fun, creative, and professional mosaic workshop. We will explore professional mosaic techniques including millefiori (small floral glass beads), found objects, and “trencadis” (mosaics made from broken tiles) on 2D and 3D surfaces. We will draw our inspiration from objects in nature and our environment. Children will conceive and create their own mosaic masterpieces. Join the MOSAIC MADNESS!
