All of our camp staff is bilingual (Hebrew & English) Some of us even speak French! Our specialist/Camp Directors are all artists and professional educators, while our Madrichim are all interested in arts and education. Our Counselors-In-Training are teenagers, ages 12-14 who have come through Open Studio programs in the past, and have decided to spend two weeks being mentored by our Senior Counselors. Our staff/camper ratio is 2:10 including one Senior Madrich (counselor or specialist) and one Counselor-in-Training.

Avigayle has been teaching for over 20 years. She is currently finishing her Teaching Certification from the David Yellin College and has a Masters degree in Education from Hebrew University. She has been a classroom teacher, informal educator & artist-in-residence all over the world. When she moved to Israel in 2011, she was awarded the designation of Outstanding Artist. Most recently she has been sent by the Foreign Ministry of Israel to teach Jewish arts in several Jewish communities abroad.

Creativity Specialist: Sewing & Textile Arts
Rivka has been working with The Open Studio for several years and is excited to add her specializations in Sewing, Felting, everything Fabric & Textile related to The Open Studio’s Creative Options. She is our Assistant Camp Director & the mother of 8 amazing children. She is fluent in English, French & Hebrew.
Creativity Specialist: Eco Arts, Shtilim & Edible Arts
Sarit has a MA in Jewish Education from Hebrew University. She is visiting us from Denver, Colorado where she is the director of a children’s day care center. She is a professional chef and a Montessori trained educator who is passionate about educating children about how to grow and prepare healthy wholesome meals. This summer she will be running our NEW Edible Art program where she will work with a different group of campers each day to prepare our delicious snack. She is fluent in Hebrew & English.
